Penis
This specimen shows various parts of the penis
The penis is a male organ of copulation. It consists of an attached root in the perineum and a free, pendulous, body (corpus), which is completely enveloped in skin. The root of the penis consists of three masses of erectile tissue, namely the two crura and a single bulb. These are attached to the perineal membrane.
These three masses continue in the body of the penis as the corpora cavernosa and the corpus spongiosum respectively. The urethra passes through the bulb of the penis and the corpus spongiosum. The terminal part of the penis is known as the glans penis
